California San Bernardino Mission

Also, last Saturday was my Mission BBQ. Every 2 years President Blanch my mission President hosts a BBQ at his home. It is about 5-10 minutes from my parents so tradition has it that we attend the BBQ and then go say hello to the family. We had a good turn out for the BBQ. There were some missionaries I had not seen for almost 16 years. The food is always a big hit as well as the swimming pool for the kids. Soft serve ice cream for dessert. Catching up with a couple roommates and companions, as well as stories from California. I loved my mission and would not have changed my mind in going. The friendships with people will last forever.

Brigham City Temple

Last Saturday the 18th was the opening day for the Open House for the new Brigham City Utah Temple. I was able to get Andrew and I tickets. I must say it is beautiful. It is also amazing to think it was built in two years. Where as the Salt Lake Temple took 40 years. As a child my grandparents lived about 3 blocks away and me, my sisters, my cousins and aunts would walk down to the Central School that used to occupy the site and play for hours there on the playground for hours. I think that is where I got my love for tetherball. It is amazing how the Lord prepares an area for a temple. The Central School sat across Main Street from the Brigham Tabernacle for many years. Then it was decided to tear down the school. The site sat vacant for a few years and now there is temple there.
THEN:NOW:

Of course the then is not the way I remember the school, but I am sure President Packer remembers it.

Follow The Prophet/ He knows the Way

Friday Night was awesome! We went to dinner with our Bishop and his wife, as well as Andrew's Secretary and his wife. Yummers at Costa Vida. Then we headed into town for President Monson's Birthday Party at the Conference Center. The Mo Tab sang and there were 3 guest soloists. Afterward we went to the new Harmons for some Gelato. I had the Lemonberry Cheesecake and three of the others had Pink Grapefruit. Which tasted like those gummy grapefruit candies. It was a great night spent with friends we love so much. Happy Birthday today President Monson!

Jenny Phillips Fireside

Sunday the 29th was a way awesome fireside, for those in our stake. Jenny Phillips came with her choir. She did an amazing job. It was a lot of fun. I so needed it after surviving primary with the autistic boys I take care of. The boys are awesome but sure know how to wear a person out.

New at This

I am new at this whole thing so give some time.  I love reading other Blogs.  A little about us:  Andrew and Beth Petersen are we.  Andrew was raised in West Jordan and I was raised in Murray.  We were at The MTC the same time but did dot know each other.  Andrew served in the Rochester New York Mission 1996-1998, and I served in the California San Bernardino Mission 1996-1997.  Andrew has an older sister and a younger brother. I on the other hand have 5 younger sisters.  We met in an Institute class at SLCC in Taylorsville January 2000.  Went on 1 date in January and 1 date in March and decided to get married that July 29th 2000.  We have lived in Murray, Bountiful, and in 2007 bought a home in West Valley.  I work for Granite School District and Andrew works at Salt Lake Printing.  He prints different things for the LDS Church.  I am the Primary Specialist in our ward and Andrew is the Elder's Qm.  President.
